Following their big 3-1 win against the Colorado Avalanche at TD Garden, Boston Bruins defenseman Nikita Zadorov called out the Boston Bruins.
The past two games against the Colorado Avalanche and the Ottawa Senators, the Bruins penalty kill has gone a perfect 6-for-6, but just previous to that when the Bruins faced the New Jersey Devils, they allowed three power play goals on seven chances.
After their game today, and shutting down the Colorado Avalanche's power play, Nikita Zadorov called out the Bruins.
He stated that they either give up three goals on the penalty kill, or they allow zero. It's never in the middle of that, and it's game changing for the Bruins.
Here are Zadorov's comments following the game:
In this statement, Zadorov is calling out his teammates to be more consistent on the penalty kill. Allowing a goal is going to happen, but they can't be allowing three goals every game on the penalty kill.
You just aren't going to win games when you're giving up 3+ power play goals a game.
Zadorov also made some comments that Bruins fans will love.
In his media scrum following the game he also went on to talk about the playoffs. He made a statement saying that he came here to play playoff hockey and can't wait to hear fans at TD Garden during the playoffs.
The Boston Bruins currently hold the first wildcard spot in the Eastern Conference.
