Due to the fact Boston has officially been eliminated from the playoffs this season, and with the team only having a few games remaining in their regular season, fans have already begun to dissect what is expected to happen this offseason, and one speculation has emerged regarding the Bruins' veteran, David Pastrnak.
Bruins fans can only imagine what Pastrnak is feeling regarding his organization's position right now. Two years ago the team hoisted the Presidents' Trophy, and now, even a Wild Card spot for the playoffs is out of reach,
as the team sits in the bottom of the Eastern Conference.
He is 28-years old, and the team was visibly on the rise for a promising future, however, that idea has slowly begun to disintegrate.
Could
David Pastrnak's future plans with the Boston Bruins organization disintegrate as well?
The forward is undoubtedly a goal-scoring machine, and some could say he is one of the most entertaining player's in the league, a veteran most of Boston would hate to see in a trade.
However, there has been whispers of a blockbuster trade on the rise that has been stirring unease in Bruins Nation regarding a one-for-one trade.
Boston Bruins' David Pastrnak traded for Las Angeles Kings' Adrian Kempe
Pastrnak's flash could boost the Kings' offensive abilities, and it is suggested the forward would be capable of fitting into the organizations lineup just perfectly, and although fans are not sold on this idea, this trade would give the 28-year old an quicker shot at making his appearance to the playoffs.
On the other hand, the Bruins would acquire
Adrian Kempe, a player who easily scores 30 goals a year, and costs just $5.5 million. Kempe's a bargain, and with just two years before he is suggested to hit free agency, he could offer Boston the help they need in order to dig out of this slump.
Trading Pastrnak's big $11.25 million deal for Kempe sounds smart on paper, however, this is something fans are definitely not sold on.
Losing 'Pasta' would hit hard, especially after the team is already grieving the loss of their 16 year veteran,
Brad Marchand.
Although there is nothing confirmed regarding this trade, Boston fans can hope Pastrnak stays with the Bruins as long as possible.
