There is a chance that the Boston Bruins decide to reunite with a former fan favourite defenseman in Matt Grzelcyk.
Grzelcyk spent his first nine seasons in the league with the Boston Bruins before leaving in free agency and signing with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
With free agency right around the corner, there is a chance that the Boston Bruins end up reuniting with the former defenseman.
Grzelcyk ended up having a really good year for the Pittsburgh Penguins after signing a one-year $2.75 million deal.
He appeared in all 82 games for the Penguins, and set a new career high in assists with 39, and finished the year with 40 points as well.
With him set to be a free agent, it was definitely an ideal year for the former Boston Bruin.
Now free agency is right around the corner, and Grzelcyk has been a name that has come up a lot.
Grzelcyk set to have a reunion with the Bruins?
The chance's of Grzelcyk having a reunion with the Bruins is not out of the question, especially if some other moves fall through.
He is familiar with the system, and with the Bruins having depth issues on the left side, could result in him coming back.
It's tough to find defenseman that play depth roles, and put up those types of numbers, but it could come down to what Grzelcyk wants on his next contract.
Despite being on a very terrible team Grzelcyk impressed a lot of people, and was also generating a lot of interest around the trade deadline.
The Bruins use to rely on him for being reliable, steady, smart, and effective, but that fell off towards the end of his time with the organization.
It seems like he has once again found it, and now the Bruins may be interested in bringing him back.
