Jesper Boqvist and Ian Mitchell : reassigned to the Providence Bruins
The Boston Bruins have made roster adjustments by reassigning forward Jesper Boqvist and defenseman Ian Mitchell to their AHL affiliate, the Providence Bruins.
Boqvist's return to the AHL follows his brief call-up on December 12th, where he contributed to the team's victory over the New York Islanders.
Mitchell's situation differs, primarily operating as Boston's spare blueliner, with limited appearances in the AHL this season.
Boqvist, a seasoned NHL player with almost 200 games under his belt, will resume his impactful role in Providence, where he has amassed 14 points in 25 games.
With these transactions, the Bruins have opened up two spots on their roster, although any potential cap space gains are mitigated by long-term injured reserve designations for
Derek Forbort and Milan Lucic.
The AHL's Bruins, currently holding a 13-9-4 record, will take the ice at 4 pm today.
