Even though he may be retired from the NHL, a huge announcement was just made involving former Boston Bruins captain, and legend Patrice Bergeron.

Last year, the Boston Bruins were hit with some unfortunate news whenever both Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci decided to call it a career.
They both ended up retiring right after having a record breaking season when the Boston Bruins set the new NHL record for most wins in a single season.
The Boston Bruins ended up having a insane record of 65-12-5, losing a total of 17 games and finishing the season with 135 points.
Ever since Krejci and Bergeron retired, the Boston Bruins have been searching for some center depth to replace both of them, but haven't had any luck.

Boston Bruins Name A New Captain

After Bergeron retired, it was pretty clear that Brad Marchand was going to take over as the next captain of the organization, and in the off-season they made it official.
Brad Marchand was named captain, but it didn't last too long. After a very disappointing season, the Boston Bruins shocked everyone when Brad Marchand was traded during the NHL trade deadline.
Now the Boston Bruins are looking for a new captain in the off-season.

Huge Announcement Regarding Patrice Bergeron

Today, it was revealed that Patrice Bergeron has been named to the NHL's Quarter-Century Team:
Bravo Bergy 👏

The #NHLBruins legend has been named to the @NHL's Quarter-Century Team.

Congrats, Patrice!
Bergeron ended up releasing a statement on the matter:
Being named to the NHL Quarter Century team is an incredible honor - one that I accept with deep gratitude and humility. This recognition is not just a reflection of my journey, but of the many people who supported and believed in me along the way.

I owe so much to my teammates, coaches and trainers who pushed me to be my best, and my family, whose unwavering support made everything possible.

This honor belongs to all of you as much as it does to me.

More than anything, I'm thankful for the unforgettable memories and lifelong friendships that this game has given me.

Congratulations Bergy!
