Former Bruins captain Brad Marchand sends stern message towards his teammates following troubling loss
Toronto has proven all the haters wrong this year, and are doing exactly that against a stacked Florida Panthers team. As the Panthers head back home for the next two games, Marchand had a six-word reminder for Matthew Tkachuk and his teammates.
Marchand and the Panthers need to find a way to win both games at home, if not they will be playing with their season on the line, and wouldn't be in an ideal situation.
The Florida Panthers looked a lot better in game 2, than they did in game 1, and that's a good sign heading back to Florida. Third time may be the charm for them, and Marchand reminded his teammates that they gotta put it in the work.
«We have our work cut out,» Brad Marchand admitted after the 4-3 loss in Game 2, via Sportsnet. «We knew it was going to be a really tough battle. We didn't expect to roll over them, by any means.«
Marchand always seems to cross paths with the Toronto Maple Leafs, especially playing most of his career with
the Boston Bruins, so he knows what it's going to take to beat the Florida Panthers.
This is the fifth time in his career that he is facing the Toronto Maple Leafs in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Marchand holds a perfect record against the Leafs in the playoffs, with a 4-0 series record against them.
Every series, Marchand and the Leafs have faced each other in has gone seven games, with Marchand coming out on top every time.
If Marchand wants to keep this streak alive, him and the Panthers are going to have to wake up, and do it quickly. Going down either 3-0, or 3-1 heading back to Toronto would not be a good position for the Panthers.
