A recent announcement just confirmed the worst for a former Boston Bruin fan favourite defenseman, and his season is coming to an end.
Saturday night, a play happened involving a former Boston Bruins defenseamn
Derek Forbort, and the Vancouver Canucks fan base has been in an uproar ever since, and you can't even blame them.
Forbort was on the receiving end of a controversial play, when he was sucker punched by Minnesota Wild forward
Yakov Trenin.
They both ended up dropping the gloves and there was no problem with that, but what Canucks fans are not impressed with was Trenin throwing a dirty punch while they were both already on the ice, and Forbort was being held back by an official.
Trenin did end up getting ejected for his play, but it was revealed that he would not suffer any further discipline from the Nation Hockey League's Department of Player Safety.
For those asking, no suspension for Yakov Trenin for his late punch to Derek Forbort from DPOS.

In result to the dirty punch, it was revealed that Forbort was seriously injured on the play.
Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet revealed on Sunday when speaking to reporters that Derek Forbort ended up suffering a very serious injury, as he
broke his orbital bone on the play.

The NHL Department of Player Safety has been known to make some controversial calls when it comes to suspending players for dirty plays, but how do you not make the right call here?
Once again the NHL DPoS is making a fool of themselves.
