Three team trade may be in the works: Bruins, Islanders and Mammoth involved
Most of the time, some big moves get made during the off-season, and there is a chance we could see the Boston Bruins involved in a couple of trades
Don Sweeney isn't afraid to make some big moves to change things up. During the NHL trade deadline, Sweeney traded away some key core players.
Now there is a chance that the Bruins could make multiple trades to acquire some draft capital, and a player they have been linked to for some time.
Bruins trade Zacha to Utah
According to
Heavy.com, the first trade the Boston Bruins would make, would be sending
Pavel Zacha to the Utah Mammoth in return for a 2026 3rd round pick.
Bruins Acquire:
2026 3rd round pick
Utah Mammoth Acquire:
Pavel Zacha (No Salary Retained)
This move would open up space for the Boston Bruins to make another trade with the New York Islanders.
The Bruins would have to move out a contract in order to fit Pageau's $5 million cap hit, and moving Zacha would do exactly that.
According to reports, the Bruins are interested in him due to how good he is on the faceoff. Last season he was second in faceoffs taken with 988, and first in win percentage with 59.6%.
Pageau had similar offensive numbers to Zacha with 42 points in 79 games, where Zacha finished the year with 47 points.
