A recent discussion between the Boston Bruins and New York Islanders has confirmed a blockbuster trade is set to be completed.

Recently, the Boston Bruins' general manager, Don Sweeney, made it clear that the organization is open to trading their No. 7 overall draft pick selection.
New insight has unfolded regarding this matter, unveiling that the Bruins are most likely to do so, as recent reports have revealed that Boston is seeking to acquire the 1st overall pick.
And although it sounds like a long-shot, it seems pretty promising for the Boston Bruins organization.
According to RG Media, the Boston Bruins and New York Islanders have spoke regarding a potential trade involving the 1st, and 7th overall pick.
Additionally, it was revealed that Boston may have engaged in trade talks involving the Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau, and Noah Dobson.
Take a look:
«According to RG Media, the Bruins and Islanders have engaged in trade talks potentially involving JG Pageau, Noah Dobson, and the 1st and 7th overall picks

To move up to 1st overall, the Bruins would reportedly have to concede the 7th overall pick and either a top six forward or top four defenseman on top of it

The Bruins goal is reportedly to move into the top five. If they are unsuccessful, they would like to use the 7th overall pick in a trade package that could get them a player for their lineup now. Two players the Bruins have expressed prior interest in are C JG Pageau (32) and RFA D Noah Dobson (25)

One source also feels that the Bruins and Islanders make a lot of sense as trade partners due to the slipping of Long Island native James Hagens in the latest draft rankings, who has fallen as low as 8 on some lists»
However, new insight has revealed more information regarding this blockbuster trade.
«I reported last week that Boston was one of the teams that has inquired about #Isles Jean-Gabriel Pageau. 7th overall (Boston's pick) is probably as far as James Hagens would go. Good work here.»
Do you think the Boston Bruins will score the New York Islanders' No.1 overall draft pick?
Only time will tell, but Bruins fans are hopeful.
