Frederic is a physical player, battles for the puck, throws the body a lot, and excels offensively by going to the front of the net.
Trent Frederic, signed 8x$4M by EDM, is a physical middle six winger. Forechecks, throws hits, battles for the puck. His offensive game mostly revolves around getting to the net and jumping on loose pucks in tight. #LetsGoOilers
Is Trent Frederic worth his contract?
This signing has confused a lot of people around the hockey community.
The Edmonton Oilers acquired Trent Frederic before the NHL trade deadline, but during their run he only saw limited time on the ice.
In 22 playoff games,
Frederic scored one goal, picked up three assists for a total of 4 points while averaging 11:24 of ice time per game.
Pretty strange to give a player $4 million on a max term contract that barley even sees the ice.
I have to admit, it's a little strange to play a guy 11 minutes a night in a playoff run and then give him $4M at max term
There are rumors that stat Frederic was playing injured, but still an interesting choice by the Edmonton Oilers to say the least.
