Wasted Opportunity: NHL Insider Reveals This Boston Bruins Forwards Trade Value Has Dropped Tremendously
An NHL insider just revealed that Boston Bruins forward Trent Frederics trade value has dropped tremendously.
Fluto Shinzawa of the Athletic has reported that Boston Bruins forward Trent Frederics trade value has been rapidly dropping.
This year with it being a contract year for the forward, he has gained a lot of interest from playoff contending teams, but according to Shinzawa the interest in him has tremendously dropped.
Elliotte Friedman has reported multiple times that a lot of contending playoff teams have shown interest in the gritty forward, but as of late his trade value has dropped due to his lack of production, and many teams have come out of trade talks because of it.
The Bruins at one point had the advantage due to how many teams were interested in him, but now it seems like the Bruins if they want to trade Frederic will not get as big of a return as they once could have earlier in the year.
Shinzawa writes:
But Frederic, No. 5 on the trade board, is sliding in the wrong direction when it comes to his offensive production. In that department, the No. 29 pick from 2016 has vanished. Frederic has been parked on five goals and six assists since Dec. 7. Frederic has no points in the past nine games. It is his longest scoreless streak since a nine-game skid in 2021. The UFA-to-be is selling himself short on two fronts: an extension with the Bruins and his value in a trade.
Boston Bruins interim head coach Joe Sacco feels that the reason Trent Frederics production has come down is due to him being less physical.
With him being less physical and not producing as much, this has resulted in his trade value taking a major hit.
Many teams were interested in him because of his gritty style of play and he could produce secondary scoring as well, but if he isn't able to do both of them, teams will not be looking at him come the trade deadline.
Do you think trading Trent Frederic would be the right move for the Boston Bruins?
