Ex-Boston Bruin Trent Frederic And Oilers Teammates Hit With Tragic Injury News Ahead Of WCF
Many did not believe that the Edmonton Oilers were going to make it past the first-round this year, but after defeating the Los Angeles Kings in six games, fans once again believed that the Vegas Golden Knights were going to beat the Oilers.
It took the Oilers just five games to eliminate the Vegas Golden Knights, and that was even after losing their star goaltender during the playoffs, and not having their top defensive defenseman.
The Oilers are now awaiting the winner of the series between the Winnipeg Jets, and Dallas Stars to see who they will face in the Western Conference Finals.
On Friday, Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch confirmed some worrying injury news, and stated multiple players will not be ready to start the WCF series according to the
Daily Face-Off.

It was confirmed that goaltender
Calvin Pickard will not be ready to begin the series against either the Jets or the Stars. Knoblauch also confirmed that star defenseman
Mattias Ekholm is expected to miss the first two games of the series, but it likely to make his playoff debut this year for game 3.
Pickard since coming in for the Oilers has gone undefeated. He is currently 6-0 in the playoffs with a 2.84 goals against average, and a .888 save percentage.
They might not be the best numbers considering his record, but since he has come in to play, he has given the Edmonton Oilers the confidence they needed to make it to where they are.
The Oilers are hopeful that they can get Pickard back soon. Skinner ended up shutting out the Golden Knights in back-to-back games, but I'm sure they would love to have Pickard back for the WCF.
