Patrick Kane Is Looking At Heading To The Bruins Division
As the unrestricted free agency landscape evolves beyond a month, the spotlight remains fixated on one of the most illustrious names - Patrick Kane. However, this prolonged tenure on the market was largely anticipated. Kane's journey was punctuated by hip resurfacing surgery this summer, signifying a prospective return to the ice around November or December.
Despite the impending wait, numerous teams across the league are eagerly poised to welcome the three-time Stanley Cup champion and future Hall of Famer into their ranks.
In a recent installment of his mailbag on The Athletic, Arthur Staple paints a vivid picture of Kane's potential destinations - the Colorado Avalanche, Edmonton Oilers, hometown Buffalo Sabres, and the New York Rangers, the team that acquired him from Chicago earlier this year.
"The choice lies with Kane," as Staple elaborates. Edmonton or Colorado, perhaps Buffalo, are all contenders. The decision hinges on fitting a reasonable cap hit and a team Kane perceives as poised for victory. Sources suggest Kane relished his stint with the Rangers and is eager to showcase his prowess when fully fit, a state he wasn't in during the spring," Staple reports.
In his 34th year, Kane's recovery from surgery seems to be progressing well. A few weeks post-surgery, a workout video surfaced, displaying his dedication.
The native of Buffalo defied the odds, notching nearly 60 points despite navigating his hip injury across the Blackhawks and Rangers. Tallying 57 points (21 goals, 36 assists) in 73 games, he amassed 16 penalty minutes and a minus-22 rating. Kane's resilience and enduring impact remain undeniable as he readies to script the next chapter in his storied career.
