Former Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand is on his way to making some NHL history with the Florida Panthers in game 7 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
It looked like the Toronto Maple Leafs were finally going to go through a playoff series without having to face off against Brad Marchand as the Boston Bruins were going to miss the playoffs this year.
During his career,
Marchand has been a pain for the Toronto Maple Leafs, and despite playing for a new team now, he has been given the nickname "Leaf Killer" and has been playing a huge part in the Panthers success especially against the Leafs.
Brad Marchand was the reason the Maple Leafs didn't go up 3-0 over the Panthers in the series as he scored the OT winner in game 3.
Marchand Set To Make NHL History
Now the two teams are facing off in a winner takes all game 7, and Marchand has a chance to make some NHL history. With a win tonight, Marchand will officially cement the "Leaf Killer" nickname into the history books as it would make him the first NHL player to have a 5-0 record in game 7s against a single team.
Over the years, Marchand has seemed to enjoy tormenting the Toronto Maple Leafs, and he is already doing so in game 7 as he has an assist on the Panthers second goal, and the Panthers are currently up 3-0.
