Former Boston Bruins head coach Joe Sacco has reportedly landed another coaching job after a recent announcement just made it official.
Joe Sacco ended up taking over as interim head coach for the Boston Bruins after the team decided to move on from Jim Montgomery early on into the season.
After the season came to an end, General Manager Don Sweeney stated that Joe Sacco was going to be a candidate for the full-time position.
There were rumours that current assistant coach Jay Leach may end up landing the head coaching job for the Boston Bruins, and if he did, Joe Sacco would have been offered a role with the Bruins.
To add to this, I've had more than one source tell me that if Jay Leach becomes the head coach, Joe Sacco would stay on as an assistant if he wants to.
Elliotte Friedman on the 32 Thoughts Podcast:
"I'm under the impression that Joe Sacco as of us recording this late Thursday night is not out of the picture (In Boston). And I still think Jay Woodcroft is in the midst of this too.".
Today, the Boston Bruins confirmed they were giving the
head coaching position to Marco Sturm, who was the leading candidate in multiple rumours, and not long after that announcement it was revealed that Sacco may be landing a new coaching job as well.
