Yesterday in the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL), the Nottingham Panthers faced a harrowing situation when they had to evacuate the arena due to a severe injury sustained by Adam Johnson, whose throat was cut by a skate. Today, somber news has reverberated throughout the hockey community.
The Nottingham Panthers have formally announced the tragic passing of Adam Johnson as a consequence of the injuries he sustained in the game the previous day.
"The Nottingham Panthers are profoundly saddened to report the tragic passing of Adam Johnson following an unfortunate incident during the game in Sheffield last night."
Johnson, a mere 29 years old, had previously played in various European leagues and had NHL experience with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
