A few key members of the championship squad are in the house!
The Boston Bruins will be honoring the 1972 Stanley Cup winning team in front of their home fans at TD Garden tonight.
Members of the 1972 team that are on hand include Don Awrey, Johnny Bucyk, Ken Hodge, Don Marcotte, Garry Peters, Dallas Smith and Rick Smith.
The ceremony will begin with a commemorative video of the 1972 team's run for the Cup, which ended when the Bruins defeated the New York Rangers in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals on May 11, 1972. A ceremonial puck drop will follow after the video tribute.
Members of the Bruins squad and staff will wear limited-edition pins honoring the 1972 team tonight, while fans in attendance will receive a 1972 commemorative poster.
Phil Esposito, who led the B's in scoring during the 1971-72 regular season, as well as Bobby Orr, who took home the 1972 Conn Smythe Trophy, will not be in attendance unfortunately.
