All 32 NHL rosters must be cap compliant by Tuesday, October 11th, while all other teams (besides the Sharks and Predators) begin their regular season on the 12th.
To do so, several transactions, such as trades and players placed on waivers, will be done in the next two days across the league. The Boston Bruins are one of those teams, as the club placed three veterans on waivers Sunday.
As per Conor Ryan of The Boston Sports Journal:
Foligno and Wagner aren't shocking to see placed on waivers, but Mike Reilly comes as a very big surprise. It would be shocking to see him and his $3 million cap hit claimed by any team looking for a steady top-six defenseman.
