The Boston Bruins are riding a 14-game point streak after their 4-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens, their longest such streak since 2014. They will look to continue it tonight at the New York Islanders, who they have beaten twice already this season.
Brad Marchand and
Danton Heinen each have two goals and three points versus the Islanders this season.
Jordan Eberle and Anders Lee were the only Islanders to find the back of the net in the first two meetings against the Bruins.
Patrice Bergeron may have some extra motivation in Brooklyn tonight as he did not register a shot on goal versus the Habs, snapping a streak of 114 straight games with at least one shot on goal.
Tuukka Rask gave just two goals on 57 shots in the two previous games against the Islanders this season, but he will get the night off after playing last night.
The Bruins held an optional skate today, but head coach Bruce Cassidy did confirm that defenseman Adam McQuaid will be back in the lineup after making his return to game action against the Canadiens.
"Very solid, thought he handled the puck very well, especially at the offensive blue line," Cassidy said of McQuaid today, per the Bruins official site. "I thought that's where the rust would be, to be honest, not having pressure around him. But handled it very well. Penalty kill is one of his fortes -obviously delivered there, solid defensively. Very pleased with his game.
This the eighth out of 14 times the Bruins will play on back-to-back days. They are 2-3-2 in the previous seven second nights of consecutive games.
