Tough news out of Columbus recently, as a 15-year NHL veteran may have played his last game.
Jakub Voracek has been sidelined with a concussion since early November, and recent reports suggest that his lengthy career could be over. As per NHL insider Frank Seravalli:
''Jake Voracek (out since Nov. 5) out indefinitely with a concussion. Doctors advised him to take some time after numerous career head injuries.''
General manager Jarmo Kekalainen also released the following statement regarding Voracek:
Voracek was originally selected seventh overall by the Blue Jackets in 2007 but is currently on his second stint in Columbus after spending 10 years with the Philadelphia Flyers.
In 1,058 career games split between the Blue Jackets and Flyers, the 33-year-old has registered 223 goals and 583 assists.
