It's a move that has come with it's fair share of criticism before the season.
The Boston Bruins deciding to cut forward Jack Studnicka and send him to the AHL.
With David Krejci gone many believed it left the door open for Studnicka to play a key piece in the Bruins' lineup this season with a good camp.
A good camp is exactly what he had, the forward looked primed and ready for the NHL but when all was said and done he still found himself behind
Charlie Coyle and
Erik Haula.
Despite showing the potential of being an offensively minded two way forward, he'll play in the AHL and head coach Bruce Cassidy explained why.
"We like our top nine right now. We really do," coach Bruce Cassidy said. "There's no complaints with where they are. We weren't sure on Coyle coming into camp health-wise. So now he goes out and plays very well the other night, comes through it fine, is healthy and ready to go. So now you look at the bottom of the lineup. Is that the best spot for Jack? Is that going to be the best for his development? The best for the team? We'll answer those questions internally. That's what he's up against. Yet he's done everything we've asked."
What do you think of Cassidy's explanation?
The B's 2017 2nd round pick registered 3 points in 20 games last year for the NHL Bruins.
