It's a move that still feels weird and sent some ripples through the city of Boston.
Longtime captain and Bruins' defenseman Zdeno Chara walked during free agency and signed a one year deal with the Washington Capitals.
It was half surprising and half not surprising kind of like when Tom Brady packed up and left the Patriots for Tampa.
While speaking to the Washington media, Chara revealed that he had consulted with Brady before leaving Boston.
Chara said the two are still close friends even after Brady left for Tampa.
It showed when Brady left a comment on Chara's farewell Instagram message as he wrote "Best of luck to you Zee," paired with some heart and "100" emojis.
It's definitely a weird sight in Boston and hopefully the Bruins don't stumble like the Patriots did this season.
