The Boston Bruins open training camp and a new season with a totally different blueline.
McAvoy has been given time to get used to the NHL and now he'll have his plate full as the team's #1 defenseman.
After his first practice without Chara, it's clear that it's going to take some getting used to.
"It's different not having Zee around...it's different. His presence obviously speaks for itself and it was definitely different."
"He's meant the world to me."
McAvoy also revealed that he sent Chara a text message today to wish him the best in Washington.
The B's new blueline leader didn't forget Krug either who's starting his season with the St. Louis Blues.
"So many things I've tried to pull from his game...he meant so much to our team."
