Everyone wishes they could have the day off to celebrate on their birthday.
Unfortunately, when you're constantly fighting for a lineup spot like Boston forward
Anton Blidh is these days, time off isn't much of a thing.
With the Bruins currently in Chicago ahead of tomorrow night's showdown with the Blackhawks, the team took the ice for a quick practice session earlier today.
Sticking to his everyday routine, Blidh hopped on for practice but quickly found out the coaches had a nice surprise for him. To celebrate his 27th birthday, here's what the bench bosses came up with.
That's right, the first line had a whole new look! Blidh, who usually plays as a left winger, slotted in on the B's top line for today's practice.
While it was surely exciting for the Swedish birthday boy, fans must not get carried away with all this.
While first line centerman Patrice Bergeron was indeed held out of practice - most likely taking a maintenance day - all signs still point to the 36-year-old suiting up tomorrow night.
