The Boston Bruins host the Carolina Hurricanes tonight for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Hurricanes are a real wild card having just snuck into the playoffs during the last week of the playoffs.

Carolina knocked off the defending Stanley Cup championWashington Capitals in seven games then swept the New York Islanders who swept the Pittsburgh Penguins themselves.

Bruins forward Joakim Nordstrom knows the Hurricanes well having played three seasons in Carolina before coming over to Boston.

"They obviously had a really good second half of this season and they're probably going to play the way they played in March," explained Nordstrom to The Athletic. "There's not a lot of room playing against them. When they don't have the puck, they're trying to get it back all over the ice. They're a really hard, pressuring team. There are a lot of one-on-one battles; you always have a guy on you."

The solution to solving their hot goalies?

"If you look at the goalies in the league, how do you score on them? You take away their eyes," Nordstrom said. "They're all good goalies. They all have some different tendencies that we'll look into, but traffic is always huge. It's not always the first shot that goes in, so winning one-on-one battles, and if you can beat your guy to a loose puck, there will be some chances there."
