The Columbus Blue Jackets finally pulled the move many expected this past weekend when they shipped disgruntled Pierre-Luc Dubois out of town.
The Boston Bruins were one of at least 12 teams in the mix for Dubois however they pulled out of the race at the end with the Winnipeg Jets, Anaheim Ducks and Montreal Canadiens they final teams making a serious push.
Dubois ended up in Winnipeg swapping jerseys with another disgruntled forward in
Patrik Laine.
So if the Jets sent Laine and
Jack Roslovic, what were the Blue Jackets looking to get from the Bruins?
A very big piece apparently.
You can understand why general manager Don Sweeney hung up the phone.
However as Murphy points out, having Dubois along with Patrice Bergeron and Studnicka down the middle for years to come would have been nice.
Would you have sacrificed any of those guys for Dubois?
