The Russian-born forward has been playing in the U.S. for the past three years.
Georgi Merkulov is a fast and skilled forward who just finished his rookie campaign with Ohio State University after suiting up for the USHL's Youngstown Phantoms for the previous two seasons.
Merkulov had a tremendous first season with the Buckeyes, earning his spot on both the NCAA B1G All-Rookie Team and First All-Star Team.
Merkulov played 36 games with Ohio State in 2021-22, leading the team with 20 goals and 34 points, five points ahead of Bruins prospect
Mason Lohrei.
As per The Hockey News' Ryan Kennedy, both men might end up playing many more seasons together.
Merkulov would be an interesting add to the B's pipeline, the 21-year-old being one of the most sought after free agent prospects in the entire collegiate system.
