Saturday night saw multiple Canadian fans disrespect the American national anthem.
The first Canadian team fan base would be the Ottawa Senators as they were taking on the Minnesota Wild. You could hear a bunch of Ottawa fans loudly booing and jeering while the American national anthem was being performed.
This quickly got a big reaction from a lot of fans on social quickly gave Senators fans a bunch of backlash, but that didn't stop another Canadian teams fan base to follow suit.
A video was published to social media by the Edmonton radio personality Courtney Theriault now, and showed that a second Canadian fan base also ended up booing the American national anthem.
This time it was from the Calgary Flames fan base, who were taking on the Detroit Red Wings, but instead fans booed following the anthem instead of during.
Take a look:
The boos from the Calgary fan base aren't as loud as the ones that came from the Ottawa Senators game, and that could be due to the quality of the recording, but there is no mistake that fans were expressing how they really felt.
To no surprise fans from the American side of the border took response when the Detroit Red Wings ended up beating the Flames 3-1 after they disrespected the American national anthem.
This new development is definitely going to ramp up the intensity when the Canadians face off against the Americans in the upcoming Four Nations Faceoff.
