The Tampa Bay Lightning took a tough 4-3 loss to the Washington Capitals last night.
With such important points in the Eastern standings on the line, goaltender
Andrei Vasilevskiy knew he had to step up.
Unfortunately for the netmindet, the Caps jumped to a 4-2 lead after two, so he had to be clutch to give his team a chance in the third.
The Bolts scored a late goal to get back within one, leaving Vasilevsky and teammates a final shot at tying the game in the dying seconds.
That's when
Tom Wilson was sprung to a breakaway, forcing Vasilevsky to make one of the most unsual saves you'll see:
The goal was not awarded to Wilson as many fans were calling for, but instead resulted in a minor penalty for tripping for the Bolts netminder.
