Yesterday we heard from Cam Neely that the Boston Bruins and Charlie McAvoy were working on a long term extension.
General manager Don Sweeney also mentioned there's been some talks but nothing written in stone yet.
Several NHL insiders believe the contract will be signed in the coming weeks and one NHL insider believes McAvoy is about to seriously cash in.
According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, McAvoy is looking at some big bucks.
Friedman mentioned on The Jeff Marek Show that McAvoy will sign a deal larger than Zack Werenski's in Columbus which means it's going to be somewhere between $9.5million and $10million AAV.
The B's have the cap space moving forward next year and moving as most of their core group is locked up with only Patrice Bergeon needing a new contract next year.
Do you think McAvoy deserves a massive new deal in that range?
