Bruins fans had to hold their breath for a few minutes on Thursday night when star blueliner Charlie McAvoy went down following a scary collision midway through the opening period.
Skating back into his own zone with Seattle's Alex Wennberg in his tracks, McAvoy was caught off guard when the Kraken forward's stick came flying up and ripped off his helmet!
On the play, but he made his way back onto the bench after being examined by team doctors. He was called for high-sticking himself on his following shift.
With 30 points in 47 games prior to Thursday's matchup in Seattle, McAvoy is well on his way of shattering his career best 32-point season.
Losing him to an errant high stick would've been a devasting blow to a Bruins team that's in the heart of the Eastern Conference Wild Card race.
