Another tragedy has struck the hockey world, as a recent announcement has revealed that a young 15-year-old hockey player has tragically passed away.

A recent announcement from the family of Nolan Ion revealed that he has tragically passed away at the age of 15-years-old after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Ion's family spoke out after he tragically passed away, and is blaming the hospital for mistreating his health.
Nolan was playing for the Upper York Admirals U16 AA team, and passed away after suffering cardiac arrest on March 18th. Unfortunately the accident happened while he was in gym class at the Keswick High School.
He was definitely taken away way too soon, but also passed just three days before his 16th birthday, making it that much more tragic.
When the accident happened, Nolan was transported from the high school, to the SickKids hospital located in Toronto, but unfortunately passed away.
Nolan's father, James Ion stated that their local hospital in Southlake cleared his son to leave the hospital just a short period of time prior to his passing.
It was later revealed that the hospital missed blood clotting, which ended up leading to Nolan having cardiac arrest and unfortunately passing away.

Multiple People Speak On Nolan Ion's Passing

«I've lost all faith in the Newmarket hospital The only way he was going to be saved was Saturday night,» his father said.

Later on, Nolan's head coach spoke on the accident and the current state of the health care system.
«We want to try and prevent this from happening again. «Maybe doctors in our health-care system maybe need to take a little more precautions when it comes to children.»
Leo Baker said
Nolan and his family realized that their son was having trouble breathing late in November, but were told that he had "walking pneumonia" and a punctured lung, and was cleared to return back to the ice by doctors.
«Every game, he still didn't have the energy. He didn't have the wind capacity,» Baker said. «You'd only see it on the ice. They don't take kids injuries seriously,» he said. «They never would have suspected a blood clot in an 18-year-old. You gotta run some tests because it can happen.»

Nolan and his father shared the same love for the game of hockey, unfortunately now his father will have to try and find a way to carry his legacy around without him.
This news is heartbreaking, and everyone at BruinsInsider is sending their thoughts and prayers to the family, friends, and teammates affected by this news.
Rest in Peace, Nolan.
