Although there have been obviously worse ''own goals'' in NHL history, this one came at one of the worst times for Kevin Fiala!
The Los Angeles Kings' biggest offseason acquisition inadvertently scored the overtime winner for the Columbus Blue Jackets last night to cap off an entertaining game.
However, as you'll see below, it's tough to put blame on Fiala as he was doing his best to control a bouncing puck that was still going in, even if he doesn't touch it.
In hindsight, the goal may not have counted if he lets it go in off of Gaudreau instead. But if you've ever played hockey, you know how fast the game can be and how hard it is to make the right decision in a split second.
Still, a very tough way to lose a hard-fought game!
