Mass Shooting Stopped Moments Before Game 5 Of The Stanley cup Finals
Las Vegas narrowly avoided a potential tragedy when law enforcement successfully apprehended a man who had plotted a mass shooting at the Stanley Cup Final. Just hours before game 5, Matthew DeSavio was taken into custody, during which he made unsettling comments alluding to the Mandalay Bay shooting.
Authorities revealed that DeSavio had posted distressing messages on Facebook, expressing his sinister intentions to harm attendees of the event. "While placing Matthew DeSavio into the patrol car, he excitedly exclaimed multiple times, inquiring whether anyone had seen his Facebook posts yet. He also mentioned that the Knights needed to win by a specific margin, threatening to replicate the devastating Mandalay Bay October 1st shooting," stated the police.
One of DeSavio's posts even explicitly warned for a recurrence of the tragic Mandalay Bay massacre. According to law enforcement, one message read, "Tonight, I'm coming for you guys, and I sincerely hope every single police officer in Vegas Golden Knights is there to protect you! Sin City better brace itself for Mandalay Bay massacre part deux."
Furthermore, in another post, DeSavio allegedly wrote, "I already warned you all that October 1st, 2017 was just a preview. Prepare to meet your demise, tourists! I WARNED YOU," as conveyed by the police.
Upon investigating DeSavio's residence, authorities uncovered a substantial stockpile of weapons. Fortunately, thanks to a tip from an individual who had been stalked by DeSavio for an extended period, law enforcement was able to apprehend him before any harm could be inflicted.
