The Boston Bruins have officially missed out on yet another key player that could have helped them during their retool next season.

Earlier in the week, the Dallas Stars made it clear to the league that they were taking calls on gritty forward, Mason Marchment.
As soon as it was revealed, the Boston Bruins were a team that were instantly linked to him.
After trading Trent Frederic to the Edmonton Oilers during the week of the NHL trade deadline, Marchment surfaced as a solid player to replace Frederic.

Plans change for the Bruins after recent trade

Now the Boston Bruins are going to have to look elsewhere to find a replacement for Trent Frederic.
It was just announced that the Dallas Stars have traded Marchment to the Seattle Kraken in exchange for a 2025 fourth-round pick, and a 2026 third round pick.
«Mason adds an important skillset to our roster," said Botterill. "He's a veteran player who brings a combination of size, skill and toughness.

Mason knows what it takes to win, having been part of deep postseason runs with the Stars. We're excited to have him join our group."

If this is all it took, you have to wonder why Don Sweeney was not all over this deal.
Marchment tied his career high in goals with 22, and had 47 assists in 62 games for the Dallas Stars.
He would have been an upgrade over Trent Frederic, and it makes you wonder why the Bruins did not pull the trigger on a trade.
