Major: Monster trade set to take place between Bruins and Rangers
The New York Rangers are apparently looking to move aggressively in the off-season despite limited cap space.
After the New York Rangers were soundly defeated by the Florida Panthers in the Eastern Conference Finals, GM Chris Drury had a mandate to shift the direction of the team.
The Rangers were out-played, out-worked by the hungry Panthers and would be defeated in 6 games.
It appears as if the team may be looking to move on from Center Mika Zibenajad to give him a fresh start.
Zibanejad has been linked to the Boston Bruins according to Lyle Richardson of the Bleacher Report.
The Bruins have been in desperate need of a #1 center ever since Patrice Bergergon retired, and
Pavel Zacha isn't doing the job.
The move of course would be painful for the Bruins and fans, as Poitras had a breakout season at 20 years old, scoring 15 points in 35 games this season.
Will Chris Drury find a third team to take on the excessive cap hit? Zibanejad has a cap hit of $8.5 Million AAV, with 6 years left on the deal.
