Rumor: Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens complete a 1-for-1 blockbuster trade
There have been a lot of trade rumors surrounding the Boston Bruins so far this off-season, and now a 1-for-1 trade proposal has surfaced involving the Bruins and Montreal Canadiens.
Over the years, the Boston Bruins have played a specific brand of hockey which involved in players engaging in intimidation and fights more then normal.
Now a new trade proposal has surfaced that would see the Boston Bruins acquire another player who fits the brand of hockey the Bruins play.
Heavy.com has proposed a 1-for-1 trade where the Bruins would acquire feisty defenseman Arber Xhekaj, while eliminating their logjam in nets.
In this trade, the
Bruins would acquire a 6-foot-4, 240 LBS left handed defenseman who has appeared in 165 NHL games.
Xhekaj ended up going undrafted, and in the 2024-25 season he recorded six points, 118 penalty minutes, 180 hits, and 63 blocks while averaging 14:37 of ice time per game.
The Montreal Canadiens have a lot of defensive prospects, and he seems to be the odd man out.
Korpisalo would give the Canadiens a solid backup goaltender who could share the net with Sam Montembeault.
With the Boston Bruins having a logjam in the crease, and the Montreal Canadiens having a logjam on defense, this trade would benefit both sides.
