Heading into the 2025-26 season, the Boston Bruins believe that they are going to be a more competitive team.
Taking a look at their current roster, they do not have a very competitive team, and still have some holes to fill.
Don Sweeney ended up making a total of 10 signings during free agency, all of them being depth/bottom-six players.
If the Bruins do want to be a competitive team next year they need to add another top-six forward into their lineup.
Today, a direct message was sent to Don Sweeney, regarding what it would cost him to acquire a 23-year-old star forward.
With the Boston Bruins needing help down the middle, there is no one better on the market then Marco Rossi for the Bruins current position.
Don Sweeney committed the Boston Bruins to a retool after he
traded away players like Marchand, Coyle, Carlo, and Frederic.
The Athletic writers, Joe Smith and Michael Russo were recently talking about Marco Rossi, and stated that he wants a long-term deal in the range of $6-7 million.
Joe Smith & Michael Russo: Re Marco Rossi: On a long-term deal, he wants in the $6 or $7m range; short-term...he's hesitant to sign what he sees as an under-market-value contract, fearing it would make him easily tradable or leave him buried in the lineup - The Athletic (7/28)
Rossi perfectly fits the Boston Bruins situation as he would provide them with center depth, and he's only 23-years-old.
