Boston Bruins linked to 30+ goal scorer: A trade may be brewing between the Bruins and Penguins

Currently looking at their roster, it's clear that the Boston Bruins are lacking some scoring depth, and a top-six forward.

The trade market would be a great way for Don Sweeney to boost the top-six, and the Pittsburgh Penguins have emerged as one of the best teams the Bruins could become trade partners with.

With the Boston Bruins needing more skill on the wing and a top-six player, Rickard Rakell makes a lot of sense.

The Penguins are going through a rebuild right now, and the 2011 first-round pick is one of the top trade candidates in the NHL right now.

If Boston did acquire Rakell, he would give them a true answer on their second-line right wing spot, and the Bruins would finally replace Jake DeBrusk after he left in free agency two years ago.

Rakell could also play on his off-wing as he did much of last season with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

In 81 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins last season, Rakell ended up scoring 35 goals, and 35 assists for 70 points.

He has also hit the 30 goal mark three times in his career, and at least 60 points three times as well.

One of the biggest appealing things about Rakell is the fact that his contract is a bargain.

Rakell is Signed until the end of the 2027-28 season with a cap hit of just $5 million. This is cheap for a player that would provide secondary scoring, and make an impact on their power play.
