During the NHL trade deadline, the Boston Bruins traded Brad Marchand to the Florida Panthers. This was a move that caught many fans off guard, but it was what Marchand wanted.

Instead of missing the playoffs with the Boston Bruins, Brad Marchand is currently playing in the playoffs.

With the Panthers beating the Lightning in game five, a major announcement was just made and it's huge for the Boston Bruins.

After winning game 5, the Florida Panthers officially are moving onto the second-round once again, and Brad Marchand played a big part.

Marchand ended up picking up four points in the five games, but picked up two of those assists in game 5 to help the Panthers beat the Lightning, and was even the second star of the game:

The Florida Panthers moving onto the second-round is huge for the Boston Bruins. Whenever they traded Brad Marchand they got back a conditional second-round pick, and the conditions on the pick was that Marchand had to play in 50% of the Panthers playoff games, and they had to make it out of the second-round.

If the Panthers make it through the second-round, the second-round pick will turn into a first-round pick for the Boston Bruins.

With how easily they took out the Tampa Bay Lightning, it looks like they will not have a problem getting out of the second-round.

The Panthers now await to see the winner of the Senators-Leafs series to see who they will face in the second-round.
