Riley Nash retires from professional hockey

Former Boston Bruins forward Riley Nash has called it a career from professional hockey in a recent announcement.
Nash was speaking with Castanet Kamloops' Tyler Lowey, and ended up announcing his retirement from professional hockey.
"It's official - I'm retiring," Nash said to Lowey. "It is definitely something weird to say and it hasn't really sunk in yet, even though I basically had all of last year away from the rink, but this year will still be weird. This is all I've done and focused on for the past 30 years, but now is the time to end this chapter or book and look at what's next."

Nash ended up missing the entire 2024-25 season due to a knee injury, and instead of trying to come back, he is calling it quits.
The year before, Nash played in the AHL with the Hartford Wolf Pack where he ended up scoring 11 goals, 27 assists for 41 points.
During the 2023-24 season he also played his final NHL game with the New York Rangers where he recorded just one hit and one shot on goal.
Nash played with the Boston Bruins from 2016-2017 to 2017-18 and appeared in 157 games with the organization.
During those 157 games, Nash ended up scoring 22 goals, and 36 assists for 58 points while being a plus-15.
During the 2017-18 season, he ended up setting new career highs with the Boston Bruins scoring 15 goals, 26 assists for 41 points.
The season after, Nash went on to sign a big at the time contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets, signing a three-year deal worth $8.25 million.
Enjoy retirement, Riley!
