Boston Bruins acquire 12th overall pick: It's in Don Sweeney's hands with this trade proposal
With the Boston Bruins looking to become a playoff team again next season, a new trade proposal sees Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney acquiring a former 12th overall pick.
If the Boston Bruins are actually looking to get back into the Stanley Cup Playoffs next season, they are going to have to add some more scoring to their roster.
Proposed trade sees the Boston Bruins acquiring Martin Necas
Bruins acquire:
Martin Necas
Avalanche acquire:
Pavel Zacha
2027 first-round pick (Florida)
This would be a blockbuster trade between the two teams, and could be beneficial for both, as it seems like both these players could use a change of scenery.
Does Necas want out of Colorado?
Mid-season, the Carolina Hurricanes traded Necas to the Avalanche. Necas was supposed to fill the void of Rantanen, but it hasn't worked out how they imagined.
«After the Avalanche moved Rantanen because of how difficult they perceived contract extension talks to be going, how much patience will they have with Necas - not a homegrown player or superstar talent - if negotiations on an extension start slowly this July? There was a sense Necas wasn't overly thrilled with his experience in Colorado and that he wants to explore other options,» Kypreos wrote.
It will be interesting to watch this situation, and even if the Bruins don't trade for him, he is set to become a UFA after this season.
