The Boston Bruins continued to make some significant moves behind the scenes, as they announced a promotion for Assistant GM Evan Gold.
Big Plans for the Black and ''Gold''?
Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff shared the news:
''#NHLBruins announce a promotion for assistant GM Evan Gold, who now officially holds the title of GM of the AHL's Providence Bruins.''
Gold, 43, is currently in his eighth season with the Bruins, as he was named Assistant GM in 2019, after serving as the Director of Legal Affairs since 2015.
According to Bruins Network on Twitter, it sounds like Gold was basically running things in Providence already, with Don Sweeney being the ''de facto'' GM.
Whether this Boston's way of grooming him into being the general manager to take over Sweeney one day is the real question.
