Following a recent announcement today, it was revealed that Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney made a surprising player available for free to all 31 other NHL teams.

This season was a complete bust for the Boston Bruins. Unfortunately for the Bruins they missed the Stanley Cup playoffs for the first time in the last eight years.
After being sellers during the NHL trade deadline, fans made it clear that they want the organization to fire General Manager Don Sweeney.
Today, Bruins CEO Charlie Jacobs made it clear in a statement that Don Sweeney will not be fired, and instead will be the General Manager again next year, which is the final year of his deal with the Burins.
It was also announced today that the Boston Bruins made a five player roster move, sending multiple players down to the American Hockey League for their playoff run, and it was revealed that Don Sweeney made a player available for free.

The Boston Bruins reassigned the following players today in John Farinacci, Vinni Lettieri, Fabian Lysell, Fraser Minten, and Frederic Brunet.
Along with that, they placed Ian Mitchell on waivers for purpose of reassignment, but because he is on waivers, if any team wanted to acquire him for free they could.

The Providence Bruins have a serious chance to win a Calder Cup this year, as they have a very deep team, along with good goaltending, and getting these players back is going to be a huge boost for their run.
