According to NHL Insider Greg Hill, we now know when Don Sweeney will be fired by the Boston Bruins front office, will Cam Neely be gone too?
It appears that the Boston Bruins will have a new look front office, according to Greg Hill of WEEI.
The sports radio host mentioned today that there could be major changes in the front office of the team on Wednesday this week.
The host got wind of the news, which was on Bruins photo day, where Don Sweeney and Cam Neely weren't present.
According to Hill, he had a whisper that let him know that Wedsnesday will be a game-changing day for the Bruins.
The Bruins are 33-39-9 and 8th in the Atlantic Division.
Under Head Coach Jim Montgomery, the B's won a President's Trophy in 2022-2023, and this season, he'd be fired. Now the fallout continues to precipitate, Sweeney could be next to look for a new job in the NHL.
Sweeney's record as GM:
He is the eighth man to hold that position, is the fourth who also played for the team, and is the first former Bruins draft pick to rise to that post. The team's nine-year record at the helm is 425-194-81 for a . 665 win percentage, which ranks first in the NHL over that span.
It's a tough look for a Bruins GM who's been successful in the regular season but hasn't been able to win a Stanley Cup once during his tenure.
He may have built great lineups throughout the year, but none great enough to win the ultimate prize. And now it appears he can't escape his own fate after what the Bruins have been through.
