Boston Bruins GM Don Sweeney Has A Huge Decision To Make Involving A Gritty Fan Favourite Forward

During the NHL trade deadline, Don Sweeney went on a complete fire sale trading away multiple big named players like Brad Marchand, Brandon Carlo, Justin Brazeau, Charlie Coyle, and Trent Frederic.

In return, the Bruins got some more younger, talented and skilled players back including Jakub Lauko. The Bruins brought Lauko back in a trade that sent Justin Brazeau to the Minnesota Wild.

Just last year, Lauko was traded from the Boston Bruins to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Vinni Lettieri.

There was some excitement from the fan base around Lauko's return to Boston, as he was a fan favourite during his first stint with the organization due to his tenacity, and high energy style of play.

He did just that once he returned to the organization and scored two goals, had 5 points, and 20 minutes, along with 50 hits in just 18 games with the Bruins. He started to get hot towards the end of the year as well scoring three of his 5 points in the final four games of the season.

This off-season, Lauko is expected to become a free agent, and Don Sweeney is going to have to decide if he wants to bring him back again, or if he is going to let him walk for free in free agency.

Lauko is a great fit on the Bruins, he brings speed and grit, and can become a solid foundation to the Bruins bottom six. Whenever he was originally traded to the Wild, it was clear that the Bruins missed his style of play in the bottom six.

He is only 25-years old and is just starting to get into his prime. He has a long way to go and there is still a lot of room for growth.
