Things have not been going the right way for Jeremy Swayman this season, and after another embarrassing loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning, Swayman issued a controversial statement.

Entering this season, there was a lot of hype around the Boston Bruins, especially goaltender Jeremy Swayman. In the playoffs last year, Swayman gave the Bruins a chance to win every game, and won the starting position over Linus Ullmark entering this year.
In the off-season, the Boston Bruins signed Jeremy Swayman to a massive 8-year, $8.25 million contract, but he has not been able to live up to it unfortunately, and the Bruins may miss the playoffs for the first time in years because of it.
Jeremy Swayman had one of his worst games of the season against the Ottawa Senators, and was pulled after the first period after he allowed four goals on just 15 shots.
Entering their game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Bruins turned back to Swayman hoping he could have a bounce back game, but that wasn't the case, although he wasn't fully to blame.
Tampa peppered Swayman, and dominated the Boston Bruins all night long out shooting them 40-12 and beating them 6-2. They also held the Boston Bruins to 0 shots in the second period, out shooting them 21-0.
After the game, Jeremy Swayman issued a controversial statement.

Swayman Issued A Statement

Last night, Jeremy Swayman set a new career high in games played for a season, and stated that he feels excellent physically.
This is good news for the Boston Bruins, but they need him to play like that as well, especially if they want to make it to the playoffs this year, where they sit just four points out of a wildcard spot.
Take a look:
Having surpassed his career-high in games played for a season, Jeremy Swayman tells @smclaughlin9 he feels «excellent» physically:

«I'm really happy with the way my body's responding, where my mind is, and where I'm at mentally. Even through the adversity we've faced, I know that everyday I get up it's a new day, new opportunity to succeed, and that's something that I've really honed in this year.

And my body's responded really well, and I'm happy for it. And I know I'm gonna keep doing what I need to do to stay healthy and get ready to play any given night.»
Swayman has started 49 games this season for the Boston Bruins, and has a 20-23-6 record with a 3.00 GAA, and a .897 SV% this year. Many fans believe that the Boston Bruins are over playing Swayman this season, and should give Joonas Korpisalo more starts.
