The Boston Bruins were playing in one of their biggest games of the year last night against the Ottawa Senators, and it did not go as they planned. During the game, the Bruins sent Jeremy Swayman a clear message.

Following the trade deadline, the Bruins put a couple of impressive wins together beating the Florida Panthers, and Tampa Bay Lightning despite moving on from some big names and leaders of the team at the trade deadline.
Don Sweeney decided to shake things up for the Boston Bruins, trading away some key leaders of the team like Brandon Carlo, Brad Marchand, Charlie Coyle, and Trent Frederic, and brought in some players that bring youth, skill and speed to the team.
Since the trade deadline, the Bruins have looked good, but last night the Boston Bruins faced some struggles, and Jeremy Swayman was the main reason.

Bruins Send Jeremy Swayman A Clear Message

Swayman put together two good games against Tampa, and Florida, but couldn't find his game against the Ottawa Senators.
The Ottawa Senators ended up scoring four goals on 15 shots against Swayman in the first period, and he would be pulled to start the second period, having Korpisalo come in for the rest of the game.
With the Bruins pulling Swayman, they sent him a clear message that moving forward, he needs to be better if the Bruins want a chance at making the playoffs this year.
Joonas Korpisalo is in net for the Bruins to start the second period. Jeremy Swayman's night is done after he allowed four goals on 15 shots in the first.
There seems to be a common theme this season, that Jeremy Swayman cannot play in three straight games.
Take a look at his stats when he starts three games in a row this season:
Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman came into play with three wins (and losses in six of the last eight) and an .888 save percentage in 11 games this season that marked his third straight start.

That four-goal period dropped it down to .882.
The Boston Bruins need to utilize Joonas Korpisalo some more, as they rarely ever shift to him and try to play Swayman more then he should be played.
