Recent Report Confirms Brad Marchand Is Set To Join The Boston Bruins Biggest Rival In The Off-Season

The Boston Bruins lost former Captain Brad Marchand to the Panthers in a trade everyone wants to forget happened, but should he fail to sign with GM Bill Zito in the summer, could he end up in Montreal of all places?
The Boston Bruins gave up their former Captain too cheaply, and Don Sweeney's penny-pinching has angered the general Bruins fandom.
If you're not angry, well it's not difficult to see that you're disengaged, or no longer paying attention.
Well, keep in mind Marchand is a rental for the Panthers at this point and could end up signing elsewhere, should he forego a return to Boston.
Where could he land? According to NHL Insider John Buccigross, he could end up returning to Canada, home to play for the Montreal Canadiens.
That could be the greatest betrayal yet, after Don Sweeney's latest actions, which instead of signing him, he traded him.
"It was very disappointing that things didn't get done," admitted Marchand his voice cracking with pain. "Obviously I love the organization and I wanted to stay there."
At the last press conference held Marchand was asked if he would return to Boston. He gave a puzzled answer, as he looked disheveled, and dismayed.
While he'd attempt to put a straight face on during the interview and maintain control of the situation it was obvious that Marchand wasn't sure about his next steps in July.
Considering he has the choice of where he lands next, why wouldn't he try and pick somewhere in Canada?
According to NHL Insider John Buccigross Marchand could end up signing with the Bruins' rival Montreal Canadiens in the summer, should he decide not to return to TD Garden after all of this.
To some, this might be the greatest betrayal of all, but for sports stars, it's their livelihoods.
You can't fault a player for using their talents to keep their career going, even if it means going somewhere like the Bell Centre, and Montreal.
