After finally snapping their 10-game losing streak on Saturday night, the Boston Bruins shocked fans with their latest announcement regarding goaltender Jeremy Swayman.
This season hasn't only been a huge disappointment for the Boston Bruins, but it's also been a huge disappointment for goaltender Jeremy Swayman.
Swayman ended up holding out on all of training camp and the pre-season games while he continued to negotiate a contract with the Boston Bruins, and it seems like it hurt him more then it benefited him.
Yes Swayman did earn a huge contract extension with the Boston Bruins, but he has been terrible this year and many believe it's because of what he did leading up to the regular season.
Swayman has a record of 21-28-6 with a 3.08 GAA and a .895 SV% in 55 games this year. Not everything can be blamed on Swayman, but he has not played up to his contract at all this season and Bruins fans are hopeful that he can bounce back next year.
Bruins Shock Fans With Latest Announcement
Jeremy Swayman nearly played a perfect game last night against the Hurricanes, and had a shutout going for him up until he allowed a goal during the final minute of play.
He was super solid though making 39 saves on 40 shots and holding a .975 SV% and a 1.02 GAA.
With that win, Swayman ended up picking up his 100th NHL win, a milestone he has been sitting on for awhile now but hasn't been able to hit it since the Bruins lost 10 straight games.
Jeremy Swayman (187 GP) became the 10th goaltender in #NHLBruins history to record 100 career wins. Of those 10, Swayman became the fourth fastest to reach the mark, behind only Frank Brimsek (150 GP), Tiny Thompson (158 GP) and Gilles Gilbert (181 GP). #CARvsBOS
With how the season was coming to an end, many didn't think it was going to happen this year, especially considering Swayman's last win came back on March 11th the Bruins beat the Florida Panthers.
